At this moment Aahana is working to reach our goal of $110,000 to support our partner, Project Potential in initiatives focused on four areas:
COVID relief and vaccination support: In the communities we work in, families bring home about 300 rupees per day. Because their communities lack infrastructure, many are unable to reach vaccination sites unless they give up a day of work thus giving up daily wages. Even then, it is uncertain whether or not the vaccination site will have doses available. We’re currently raising $35K to focus on awareness, basic ration support, vaccinations, and connecting people to resources if they do fall sick.
To support in rebalancing India’s workforce through provide 50 female entrepreneurs access and training to the Haqdarshak technology platform which uses an entrepreneur-led model so local people can use a mobile phone and app in order to screen local people for eligibility for various schemes, and then they help them apply for those schemes in exchange for a small fee.
To support the development of eArthshala, a holistically designed campus to promote local environmental and social action and develop a vibrant local economy.
To support ecosystem development and strategy through hiring support on the ground and covering basic operational costs.
