PHILADELPHIA, PA – We are pleased to announce the launch of Angles of Awareness: A Global Initiatives Speaker Series on November 4 at 5:30 p.m in Drexel University’s Mitchell Auditorium on 3140 Market Street.
Aahana, a non-profit organization that aims to educate disabled children from rural villages is partnering with student organizations DSA, SAAS, and SAFE to highlight the importance of women’s rights and gender equality.
Lead in discussion by four expert panelists, this launch event will emphasize the Millennium Development Goal of Women's empowerment and gender equality. Our panelists will be discussing a wide range of topics including the effects of conflict on women and human trafficking.
Our goal is to spread awareness about the issues Aahana is targeting in India such as lack of education in rural areas, health disparities, and women's rights. Our goal is to touch various universities in the Philadelphia area to join our mission and further spread awareness about Aahana, and other global initiatives.
